Tasman 2013

We got an early start for the 3 hour crossing with our rental car to the South Island.  The ferry has a movie theatre, play level for children, cafeteria, and bar with a total of 7 levels (2 levels for cars and trucks).  After landing on the South Island in Picton, we drove to our cottage in Kaiteriteri Beach, in the Tasman area.

One hike we really enjoyed was the Braeburn Trail along Lake Rotorua in Nelson Lakes National Park.   One of the nice things about the Tasman Area is that there are 3 National Parks nearby.  A day trip for a nice walk is quite easy.

Able Tasman National Park is a 10 minute drive from our cottage.  There are many walking trails with water taxis that will drop you off at one bay and pick you up at another bay.  No water taxi needed to walk to Tinline Bay with its small beach and water caves.
